John was a loving husband, dad and grandad who brought warmth, wit and wisdom to his family.  He will be much missed by his wife, Julie, children and grandchildren.  As a colleague, mentor and friend he will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to give freely of his time and attention.  As a Professor of Science Education, John was an inspiration to many both nationally and internationally.   He was a well-travelled man with many world-wide connections, a love of animals and the natural world, as such we feel the World Wildlife Fund is the right charity for John's muchloved page.
